ADVANCE LOGIC CIRCUITS DESIGNS

Computer Engineering
Course Syllabus

Course Code
COE34
Course Title  Advance Logic Circuits Designs

Course Description

Lecture
Describes the basic designs and operations of a rudimentary minicomputer to enable the students to analyze, modify and design a model rudimentary minicomputer circuit diagrams and operation flow charts using combinational and sequential logic circuits. The designed or modified model rudimentary minicomputer should be able to execute short written program, data processing operations and data transfer operations between I/O (input output registers) and registers/small memory.

Course Goal  To develop a set of students that understand basic computer system designs and operations using model rudimentary minicomputer to allow them to analyze, modify and design minicomputer that is able to emulate modern computer basic operations. Secondary - to prepare the students in computer system architecture designs, peripheral interfacing programming and peripheral designs for Special and General Purpose.

Course General Objectives  Upon completion of the course the student must be able to:
1. Analyze, Illustrate ad describe individual minicomputer system components organizations and operations using diagrams and flow charts
2. Analyze and demonstrate data transformation within the model minicomputer processor arithmetic logic circuits.
3. Analyze and demonstrate minicomputer data transfer operations between processor and memory or I/Os.
4. Analyze and demonstrate data processing where about within the minicomputer system processor, memory and I/Os.
5. Illustrate program executions within the minicomputer processor and logic control circuits.
6. Analyze, modified and draw a designed model minicomputer system.
